Baker Skateboards graced the skateboard industry in the year 2000; a new millennium brings forth a brand new company. Andrew Reynolds, owner & founder of Baker started the company after years of skating for his previous sponsor Birdhouse skateboards which is owned by Tony Hawk, and at the time Per Wilder. He became friends with videographer J. Strickland and thus Baker Skateboards was born. The first sighting of baker skateboards, came in a rough cut video called “Baker Bootleg” which consisted of footage too gnarly to be advertised under the “Birdhouse” name. Skaters featured included, now retired skater Heath Kirchart, Dustin Dollin, Elissa Steamer, Jim Greco, as well as Erik Ellington, who were all friends of Andrew Reynolds. The video became a huge success, and thus Baker Skateboards was born. In the years that followed Baker has released several other video projects, few of which are Baker 3, Baker Has A Deathwish & Baker 4. The company has also had its boards and clothing featured in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series of video games. Today, Baker is still owned and run by Andrew Reynolds.
